Vehicle Rental Terms & Conditions

1. General Information
This contract concerns the rental of a vehicle from the company S&YRent, based in Heraklion, Crete. By making a reservation and/or using the vehicle, the customer unreservedly accepts all of the following terms.

2. Renter Requirements

  • Minimum age: 23 years
  • Maximum age: 70 years
  • Valid driving license held for at least 1 year
  • For licenses issued outside the EU, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required

3. Payments & Security Deposit

  • Pre-authorization/hold of €600 on a card.
  • Release of the amount 7–14 days after the vehicle is returned.

4. Fuel Policy – Full to Full
The customer receives and returns the vehicle with a full tank.
If the tank is not full on return: fuel cost + €20 service fee.

5. Vehicle Insurance
Damages are not covered when caused by careless/illegal driving, to the underbody, tires, rims, windshield, off-road use, alcohol/substance use, or loss of key.
Driver’s excess up to €600.

6. Use of the Vehicle – Restrictions
It is forbidden to:

  • Hand over the vehicle to an undeclared driver
  • Smoke inside the vehicle (€80 charge)
  • Drive dangerously or off-road

7. Kilometers
Unlimited mileage, unless otherwise specified.

8. Accidents – Damage – Theft
Immediate notification of the company is required, along with a police report and photos.
Without a report, the insurance does not apply.

9. Cleanliness
Charges of €50–€120 may apply for excessive dirt or soiling.

10. Cancellations

  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pick-up.
  • Less than 48 hours: 50% refund.
  • No-show: non-refundable.

11. Fines
All traffic/parking fines are paid by the driver, plus a €20 administration fee.

12. GDPR
Personal data are stored securely and used only for reservation, identification, and tax purposes.

13. Applicable Law
Greek law applies – Courts of Heraklion have jurisdiction.
